IU basketball has never been as good since Bob Knight left. It hasn't been as exciting, entertaining, or just plain good basketball as of late. That could soon change with the recruits coming in for Coach Crean.
Wednesday, Yogi Ferrell also committed to the university. So lets count, that is 2 seniors ranked in the top 50 (Austin Etherington and Cody Zeller), 3 juniors in the top 150 ( Ferrell, Ron Patterson, Peter Jurkin), and 2 sophomores ( Collin Hartman and Devin Davis Jr.) soon to be ranked in the top 100. In the past couple of years IU has only gotten 1 of these recruits. And that big time recruit went pro after one year (Eric Gordon). So I believe changes are in the air.

Harry Potter crazies
The new Harry Potter movie came out Friday. Alot of diehards saw it at 12 AM Friday morning and many others saw it that night. But why? Because we all read the books and love Harry Potter. But where is the line between a good book and a good movie and obsession? People dressed up and sacrificed many hours of sleep to go see this movie. I have never read or seen the books or movies, but I think people are nuts.http://www.indystar.com/article/20101121/ENTERTAINMENT/101121004

Big Time Recruit
It is amazing the pressure fans put on one 18 year old boy. I cannot even imagine the pressure being put on Cody Zeller right now. He hasn't even played his senior year of basketball yet and he is already being talked about around the big ten. He has been called the "missing piece of the puzzle" from the IU Basketball program. Just think about the pressure of picking a college and knowing that just about 6 million people tuned into see you pick that college. Or think about that the entire Indiana University campus knew when Cody's college visit was, and planned accordingly. http://www.indystar.com/article/20101114/SPORTS15/11140358
I believe that kids these days are being to relied on by alumni, friends, and coaches. If Cody doesn't perform, people will look at him as a bust. And thats one nickname I would like not to have the rest of my life.

Overpriced
People are nuts. This week a card collector named Doug Walton bought an original Honus Wagner baseball card for $262,900. Yes thats the same amount someone would pay for a good sized house. People are so passionate about things and I understand that. But, where is the line that people shouldnt cross with these things. Think about what you could do with 260,000 dollars. You could by 5 BMW cars. You could buy 4 double cheeseburgers a day from McDonalds for 90 straight years.
